January 20 seems like a bit late to be commencing on a resolution, but I’ve got cause. I’ve been sick with the-cold-from-hell. From New Year’s Day until last weekend I could do nothing but whine, sleep, and read—only now I can barely remember what I read! Now I’m in recovery, but not well yet. The Sunday beef soup was my first cooking effort of the year; I think it helped.
I know I’m not the only one to be laid low by this. My England-based son had it so bad that he perforated an eardrum. He reports that about everyone one in England and across Europe (he travels lots) is recovering or still suffering.

See it on her blog at

Now, for me, I’m on to brighter days and frequently blogging.

Thatawaytogo Trilla. Twice a week is about perfect for me...a bit of a challenge, however: one journal quilt and one crafty item. Now how to squeeze in painting. I saw that an fine artist I know paints everything about 6" x 8"; and you can always bring in something from your book about cooking up memories as ideas pop into your head. Picasso said painting is but keeping a diary...same for blogs I guess.
This is what I meant to say, but the first time, I was all thumbs and so made too many typos! I am excited to read your blog, and I know with this post you have pleased our mutual buddy by showing that wonderful journal quilt of hers!
Trilla, I enjoy Linda's blogs and now yours. I really wish I had known about that delicious cake a few days before I made Natillas ( Mexican soft custard ) instead :).
